What a tiny baby. You have good eyes, it could have been mistaken for a mosquito.
I'm just glad I didn't miss it. I was there to pick basil for pesto but this little guy drew me in instead.
I have 2 little pods just waiting to explode with hundreds of tiny babies ! So excited that I can hardly wait. When I was a kid in New England, I found a pod (not knowing what it was, but it looked cool).I gently tucked it into my top dresser drawer. In no time, my bedroom was covered in babies. Mom was dismayed, but with some work, I won the science fair the following year. Look closely there probably are more, but watch out, mommy mantis will eat them. Big smile for you ! Regards, Susan
Wonderful story, Susan. I will look for more babies and for mama mantis as well!
A mantis lays an awesome number of eggs, and they are secured with a dark colored, frothy packaging. This packaging shields its eggs from different creatures, and additionally from rain and wind. https://www.homyden.com/lawn-maintenance-best-weed-eater-in-depth-reviews/
