A Zebra with wings...

A "Simply" Extra
The Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charithonia) is the official state butterfly of Florida. It is also one of the most commonly seen butterflies on our central Florida property.

While walking through the woods today, I came upon several zebra longwings fluttering over a sprawl of wedelia.

  1. Beautiful. I didn't know the zebras like red flowers also. Hooray for me, another color to add to the garden! Do you remember how exciting it was the first time you downloaded a close-up and saw the red on the Zebra's? I sure do!

    1. The zebras really seem to like the red bottlebrush tree but they also like passionfruit flowers and my bush sunflowers and firespike and...!
