I know my fear is illogical/irrational - that's why I was drawn to your post this morning. Very good information here ~ thanks for sharing! Your situation may be different, Eli, but scientists who analyzed cases of reported spider bites have repeatedly concluded that the majority of the bites did not come from recluse or widow spiders. Thankfully they were relatively harmless bites (but expensive). However, both experiences have left me with quite a fear of the little boogers. I have plenty of widows around my home and I have to admit that I go out of my way to eliminate them. However, I also have a garden full of harmless spiders that I leave well enough alone, except for each morning when I have to maneuver through their webs. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1563617538751855242.post-45463377144672429372014-09-08T03:33:46.684-07:002014-09-08T03:33:46.684-07:00Widows may not top my list of favorite spiders, bu...Widows may not top my list of favorite spiders, but for the most part they do their job of ridding the garden of bugs without harming people. There are so many spiders out there (widows included) and so few people who actually get hurt by spider bites. It's all about evaluating risks, Mike. :)sherry boashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07310105811887347118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1563617538751855242.post-16489038894953443122014-09-08T03:23:31.065-07:002014-09-08T03:23:31.065-07:00I know how important spiders can be in the garden ...I know how important spiders can be in the garden to get those bad bugs, but wow, widow spiders?
